Planet Money: Who’s writing the financial reform regs?

Recently, NPR’s Planet Money offered up its typically entertaining, insightful, and balanced look at the slow process of actually writing the financial reform regulations that congress authorized last year.

Here’s a link to their half-hour podcast, well worth listening to – you can listen in your browser, or download it. It’s a light-hearted look at a very serious subject.  And, here’s their quick update on where several pieces of the regulation-writing are at (most are due for completion by the end of this year).

For those of you not tuned into Planet Money, this team of economics reporters spun off as their own NPR fiefdom after producing a widely admired hour-long segment for This American Life on the “Giant Pool of Money” that was the fuel for the creation of all those crazed, multiply-packaged mortgage products that nearly burned down the economy in 2008.
